Sr. Joanne Barras
(1916-1990)
Planning for the Alverno College Archives began in the Summer of 1974. At that time, College President, Sr.Joel Read appointed Sr.Joanne Barras, a former Business Education Instructor, as the first college archivist. After initial preparations and training for Sr. Joanne, the Archives was officially established in January 1975. Sr. Joanne remained as archivist until her retirement in 1987.
