Eight
months
of research on women
who hold public office in Wisconsin culminated in a conference
at which biographical, educational, political, and motivational
factors distinguishing these women were discussed. The results
of this research assisted the participants to appreciate
the need for greater involvement of women in public life,
and to understand the qualities necessary for successful
involvement.
