Conference of Women Theologians

June 7-18, 1971

 

Twenty-two theologians from various denominations and academic institutions convened to explore together the spiritual and religious experience of women. The work accomplished by the participants was coordinated with a June 1972, Conference sponsored by Church Women United, and the International Conference of Learned Societies held in Los Angeles in Fall 1972.

Conference participants included: Carol Christ, Margaret Earley, Phyllis Agnes Edwards, Laura Cameron Fraser, Susan Jane Gruenhack, Marion Greene Jenkins, Rita Gross Leposky, Margaret Nan Mazey, Lilias Joan Morrison, Nelle Morton, Maryellen Muckenhirn, Elaine H. Pagels, Claire Randall, Patricia Sylvester Ross, Alice M. Rutherford, Jane Steir, Divina del Carmon Tapaya, Sallie TeSelle, Emma Justes Trout, Patricia Ann Wilson, Eva Zabolai-Csekme and Barbara Brown Zikmond. There were also two observers: Barbara Roche and Ellen Kirby.
